Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the PTO decided to plan a Read-A-Thon fundraiser in 2020. It was a great success and has continued to be our primary fundraiser each year. The Read-A-Thon serves as the primary resource to fund many of the PTO’s programs such as classroom supplies, unit funds, spring/fall performances, STEAM night, and the arts showcase. In addition it supports the PTO’s long range plans such as garden improvement and technology resources for the library. 

Recently the funds raised from the Read-A-Thon have helped to fund:

  • Flexible seating for classrooms 
  • Equipment for our new gymnasium
  • New playground equipment 
  • Teacher and grade level allowances to purchase supplies for their classrooms
  • In 2022, the PTO voted to fund $10,000 towards the Garden Improvement Project and $5,000 towards the Idea Lab in the library. 

The 2023 Read-A-Thon will take place March 1-10 (Read Across America Week). Information will be sent home as well as included in the Husky Howler and social media.
