Teacher and students in classroom with woodland decorations

The upper grade students at Sandusky Elementary School are experiencing Habitat Immersion during three different days in March. Last week, students experienced the desert, this week they investigated the woodlands, and later this month they will wander through the marsh. During their immersion activities, students demonstrate an understanding of scientific reasoning, logic, and the nature of science by planning and conducting investigations in these various habitats, which will imitate the different environments with items including sand, rocks, heat lamps, water, marsh grass, tree trunks, animals, and more!
