T. C. Miller is a school-wide Title I school.  Funding from our Title I, Part A funds are used to support staffing to provide individual and/or small group remediation for students in reading, math, and for professional development for staff.

Each Title I school uses a portion of funds for parent and family engagement. T. C. Miller uses these funds to provide resources and/or host events to help build our families’ capacity to support their children’s academic achievement. Because we have a school-wide program our funds benefit all students through the purchase of materials for reading and math, through parental involvement offerings, and other special events or projects.

Our Title I team provides supplementary reading services to students in grades K through 5 who demonstrate a need based on assessment results from PALS (Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening), the Virginia English SOL, running records, Fundation’s data, and the DIBELS reading assessments.
