Sandusky Middle School welcomed Kenneth “KJ” Bryant as their new head football coach this month. An LCS alum, Bryant first started his football career at Sandusky Middle during his eighth grade year.

After high school, Bryant played football for Bluefield College and Greensboro College. He joins the Sandusky Middle football team with a year of experience as an assistant head coach at Dunbar Middle School for Innovation.

“Our school community is excited at the appointment of Coach KJ to lead our Spartans. He is connected to the community, which offers invaluable resources to our program, and he has already expressed to our students his expectations surrounding academics, character, and dedication to one another. We look forward to a rewarding year for this group of students on and off the field,” said Sandusky Middle principal Annitra Leigh.

Bryant is well-known in the local community through his connections with both LCS and The Lab Fitness, which he co-owns with his brother. He’s excited for the chance to invest in Lynchburg youth, helping them develop as players and as people.

“It brings me joy knowing I’m leading the next generation of young men. My goal for these young men is beyond football. I want them to be able to prosper outside of the field by respecting those at home, their teachers, and their peers,” Bryant said.
