Lynchburg City Schools, in partnership with One Community One Voice, launched a new reading incentive program today. “Ready to Read: A Reading Readiness Program for Kindergarteners” is an innovative initiative that promotes reading readiness and an appreciation for reading in kindergarten students. The program will be piloted at three elementary schools—Bass, Linkhorne, and Sandusky. As a part of the program, community members will serve as Reading Ambassadors who will periodically read to kindergarten classes. Interested volunteers can submit the School Volunteer Application.
