The Lynchburg City Schools 50th Annual Suzuki Festival took place on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Lynchburg City Stadium. The Suzuki Festival involves a combination of approximately 500 LCS elementary and middle school strings students performing on the field together.
The LCS elementary schools use the Suzuki Method, adapted for public school. The program was piloted in 4 elementary schools in 1970-1971. It was so successful that it was placed in all schools the following year. Due to COVID-19, there was no festival in 2020 and the 2021 festival was live streamed. We were excited to return to a live performance and this was the first Suzuki Festival to be held outdoors.
