Two Lynchburg City Schools students won first place in the Virginia School Board Association regional art competition in May at the Southern Regional meeting held in South Hill, VA.
The artwork submitted by E. C. Glass High School student Aysia Brown and Linkhorne Middle School student Jasmine Oedina were selected by state school board members as outstanding pieces of student art from their region.
Three winners--one from the elementary, middle, and high school levels--are selected at the nine regional VSBA meetings throughout the Commonwealth.
As first-place regional winners, Aysia and Jasmine’s entries will be framed and will join 26 other winning selections displayed on a rotating basis in the VSBA offices in Charlottesville and the Richmond office of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction.
