LCS Students Chosen as Finalists in Randolph College Poetry Contest

Several Lynchburg City Schools student-authors are finalists in the 2012 Randolph College Science Festival Poetry Contest. Only 41 finalists were chosen from 750 submitted poems. Poetry from several area schools and all grade levels was submitted. All finalists will be published in a book.

Poems will be judged at a public reading on Friday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m., in Smith Banquet Hall at  Randolph College, and the top three winners will be announced from each group.

Students will be invited to read their own poems to the judges. Poems are judged by faculty poets and senior creative writing majors. The event is open to the public.
