As mandated by the Code of Virginia, we use a threat assessment process to identify and address potential concerns before they arise. This routine safety measure has been in place for more than a decade.
A threat is a concerning communication or behavior that suggests an individual may pose a threat of harm to someone else or themselves. Made up of experts in counseling, instruction, administration, and law enforcement, our threat assessment team is dedicated to evaluating situations and implementing effective strategies to manage them. These strategies often include mentoring, counseling, support, and setting appropriate boundaries. In rare cases, more serious actions may be necessary, but our primary focus is on prevention and support.
Please rest assured that these measures are not in response to any immediate concerns, but are part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a safe learning environment. We are proud to partner with you in creating a community where every student can thrive.
