Lynchburg City Schools (LCS) is seeking volunteers to serve on the Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee for the 2026-27 school year. Parents and guardians should submit the Committee Application by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2026.

Made up of parent representatives from each school, the Superintendent's Parent Advisory Committee meets throughout the school year. The committee facilitates two-way communication between families and LCS leaders. Parent Representatives will share collective input from their school communities, identify growth opportunities, discuss concerns, and help develop solutions that improve educational outcomes for students.

Each school has one primary representative and one alternate representative from each school. Representatives must attend three in-person meetings and actively gather feedback from families at their schools. They will be expected to participate consistently and approach discussions about school and division topics collaboratively.

Selected representatives will serve for one school year. At the conclusion of the term, representatives may reapply for future service if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements. Previous service does not guarantee reselection. Participation is voluntary and unpaid. Members will not be considered employees, agents, or official spokespersons for Lynchburg City Schools.

Meeting Dates

The Superintendent’s Parent Advisory Committee meetings will occur in-person at 6 p.m. in the Board Room at the School Administration Building located at 915 Court Street.
