Lynchburg City Schools (LCS) invites families, staff, students, and community members to participate in an upcoming community engagement event focused on shaping the division’s next five-year strategic plan.
The strategic plan will serve as a roadmap to guide decision-making, priorities, and investments across Lynchburg City Schools from 2026-2031. Community input is a critical part of the planning process, and LCS is committed to building a plan that reflects the needs and goals of those it serves.
Community Town Hall Event
Date: Thursday, February 19, 2026
Time: 6-7 p.m.
Location: Dearington Elementary School, 210 Smyth Street, Lynchburg, VA 24501
The event will begin with a brief overview of the strategic planning process and the importance of a long-range plan to guide the future of Lynchburg City Schools. Participants will then take part in an interactive “gallery walk,” featuring stations focused on five emerging strategic goal themes identified through earlier community and stakeholder feedback. At each station, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions, engage in conversation, and provide feedback in a small-group setting.
Community members who are unable to attend the event in person will be able to fill out an online survey later in February.
