E. C. Glass has once again earned the prestigious Virginia Blue Ribbon Award after all three of its musical groups—band, orchestra and chorus—received Superior Ratings at the VMEA Concert Assessment. This is the third year in a row, and fourth time in the past five years the school has received this honor.
In order to be considered for the Blue Ribbon Award the top band, orchestra and choral groups perform two pieces from approved graded music lists. This year, all groups were required to sight read or sight sing at the District Performance Assessment.
All three groups from E.C. Glass performed college-level repertoire and all three groups received straight Superior ratings from the adjudicators.
