E. C. Glass Bands Receive Perfect Scores at Assessment

The wind ensemble and symphonic bands at E. C. Glass High School were each awarded straight Superior ratings at the District 6 Concert Band Festival held recently at Lynchburg College. Seventy bands and orchestras from across the district participated in the Virginia Band and Orchestra Director’s Association Concert Assessments. The Glass band program was one of only two high schools in the entire district that had two bands to each receive all Superior ratings--the equivalent of a perfect score and the highest ratings possible. 

 “The VBODA Concert Assessment is the equivalent to the SOL grades for our music programs,” said Larry Seipp, E. C. Glass band director. “We were very pleased with our results.”
