The Lynchburg City School Board has approved the superintendent’s recommendation to hire Mr. Jeffrey M. Guerin as principal for T. C. Miller Elementary School for Innovation.
Mr. Guerin has been an LCS educator since 2013, where he served as a special education teacher before moving up to the role of assistant principal at Perrymont Elementary School last school year. Mr. Guerin gained valuable leadership experience during his time as assistant principal as well as during his current and previous two years of experience as a summer school principal for the LCS Bridge program. Prior to coming to LCS, Mr. Guerin spent eight years as a mental health site supervisor for the Therapeutic Day Treatment program at the Central Virginia Community Services Board where he became highly skilled in student behavior management and support.
Mr. Guerin’s experience as an administrator and educator will help him continue the long history of success in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) while serving as the principal of T. C. Miller. Additionally, Mr. Guerin will work collaboratively with the staff at T. C. Miller and the local community in providing new innovative avenues to showcase the artistic excellence of students at T. C. Miller as they develop their creative side throughout their elementary education.
Mr. Guerin has a Master of Arts degree in teaching and a Specialist in Education (Ed.S) degree in administration and leadership, both from Liberty University. He is currently completing his doctoral studies in educational leadership, also with Liberty University.
