On June 2, 2013, in front of hundreds of relatives, while listening to the sweet sounds of “Pomp and Circumstance,” the class of 2013 received their high school diplomas. Lynchburg City Schools graduates will attend more than 80 colleges, join branches of the military and enter into the work force as skilled professionals. Combined, students from both E. C. Glass and Heritage high schools were offered more than $12 million worth of scholarships.

Career Tech students have already applied for and accepted IT jobs at places such as StarTek, Areva, Apex Systems and Liberty University.

Career Tech Students  have passed the following state board examinations and industry certifications:

  • 9 Dental Assisting students passed the Virginia Dental Radiation Safety & Hygiene Certification.
  • 15 students in the Culinary Arts program passed the “ServSafe” Culinary Examination.
  • 7 Cosmetology students passed the Virginia State licensing examination.
